Casandra Alexander is quietly going about trying to become one of the best players in the world as she continues her steady climb up the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.
Alexander’s top-10 finish in last week’s Ladies European Tour’s Helsingborg Open in Sweden was her third of the 2023 season, to go with her victory in the team contest of the Aramco Team Series-Singapore and runner-up finish in the Aramco Team Series-Florida.
That kind of consistency has seen her rise from 347th to 254th on the list, and she is producing a couple of good rounds every single time she plays in any tournament.
Also up in the rankings were Nicole Garcia and Stacy Bregman as a result of their performances in the Helsingborg Open. They were both up two spots to 224th and 582nd respectively. Lee-Anne Pace was also up two to 186th.
Ashleigh Buhai’s strong finish on the LPGA Tour in the Mizuho America’s Open, where she shared seventh, might have been expected to see her climb on the list, but she remained at 16th. That is just one spot lower than the 15th which was her best position this year, and she remains South Africa’s top golfer.
South Africa’s top 10:
- Ashleigh Buhai 16 (unchanged)
