South Africa’s Casandra Alexander is back at the Wistron Ladies Open for the third consecutive year and is expecting tough conditions at Sunrise Golf and Country club.

The event, which is co-sanctioned by both the TLPGA and Ladies European Tour (LET), will see 108 players tee it up for an increased prize fund of $1.2-million.

The three-time LET winner has played solidly in Chinese Taipei for the past two seasons recording a T12 finish in 2024 and T21 in 2025.

So far in 2026, the weather has been kind with the course basked in sunshine albeit accompanied by very strong winds.

With different weather conditions, Alexander is adapting her course strategy at Sunrise Golf and Country Club.

“You have got to play more into space [with the wind] and accept that it’s playing tough for everybody and stay patient with it,” she said. “That’s going to be the most important aspect.

“Trusting the wind and the lines off the tees for the second shots as much as possible because it is breezy and there’s a lot of little tee boxes or parts of the fairways where the wind dips down and it really dies. You have got to trust that it’s there and pick the starting lines.

“It’s been really nice – we haven’t been stuck in a hotel room! We missed the typhoon by one week. The rough is a little softer than it was before, it looks the same, but as you hit it a lot of grass flies with it, so you can get under the ball nicely and stay aggressive. That’s a big change and you can see most of the golf course now with the sun out. The greens are running slow, but they are grainy greens. It looks alright.”
