Charley Hull stormed to a closing 65 on Saturday, but it took a little slip from South Africa’s Casandra Alexander to let her in for her fifth Ladies European Tour title in the PIF Saudi Ladies International at Riyadh Golf Club.
Alexander began the day with back-to-back birdies on the first and second before a dropped shot on 10. She then rolled in three birdies on the trot on holes 11 through 13 and added another on 15 but unfortunately dropped a shot at 17 to miss out on a play-off.
“It’s been a great start to the season. There have been a lot of positives from this week, and I can learn from a couple of the shots, but overall, it was pretty solid,” said Alexander. “That gives me a great start to the season, the prep has been good and I’m excited to see what the rest of 2026 has in store for me.”
The English star Hull began the day three shots behind the leaders in a share of 11th place but fired a round of seven-under to set the clubhouse target of 19-under-par. The world number five went on a run on her back nine and was six-under-par in her final seven holes to secure the crown.
“It feels great. Wow, it’s gone a bit too fast today. I was only two-under through nine holes and then I made a charge on the back nine,” said Hull.
Alexander’s bogeys in the final round both came from three-putts, and were symptomatic of the one part of her game that seems a little unpolished at this stage.
She shared second with Japan’s Akie Iwai. Spain’s Carlota Ciganda and Korea’s Hye-Jin Choi ended the week in a tie for fourth place on 17-under-par.
England’s Mimi Rhodes, Korea’s Ina Yoon and Japan’s Nasa Hataoka were one shot further back with three players rounding out the top 10 in a share of ninth.
In the LET Order of Merit, Hull sits at the top of the rankings with 500 points ahead of Alexander in second with 275 points and Ciganda third with 162.50 points.
