It was another week and another top 10 for Jayden Schaper on Sunday as he finished the DP World Tour’s KLM Open at The International outside Amsterdam in the Netherlands on four-under-par, alone in third place.
Two early birdies – on the second and the third – were followed by pars all the way home in trying conditions of wind and rain, and Schaper followed his share of fifth last week with a second-successive finish in the upper reaches of the leaderboard.
Connor Syme won his maiden DP World Tour title as he saw off playing partner Joakim Lagergren by two shots. The 29-year-old Scot was always in control as he closed out a breakthrough win in his 182nd appearance on the DP World Tour. “Unbelievable,” he said. “It was so, so difficult the last few days. I just felt so much better this week, I felt really ready to do it, and I’m so, so happy I managed to do it.”
Behind Schaper, Dylan Naidoo had an up-and-down back nine after starting his final round on the 10th. He was bogey-free through the turn with three birdies, and he had four more during the homeward stretch. But he also had two bogeys and a double-bogey going home. Nonetheless, his three-under 68 was enough to give him a share of 26th on one-over for the tournament.
Also on one-over after his closing 70 was Richard Sterne, while Zander Lombard slipped to a four-over 75 for a share of 40th on two-over. Dylan Frittelli had a three-over 74 to finish in a share of 68th on nine-over.
