Christiaan Bezuidenhout managed a 23-place climb up the leaderboard on Friday with a two-under-par 68 in the second round of the PGA Tour’s Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.

Bezuidenhout made four birdies and two bogeys to move to two-under for the tournament and a share of 28th. The lead was held, as it was in the first round, by England’s Harry Hall, who added a four-under 66 to his opening 62 to move to 12-under through 36 holes. That gave Hall a three-stroke edge over Harris English of the United States, with Argentina’s Emiliano Grillo in third on eight-under.

Bezuidenhout was the only South African to make the cut. Dylan Frittelli, who started so well with a three-under 67, followed it with a five-over 75 and missed the cut by one on two-over. MJ Daffue’s 72 saw him at five-over and Garrick Higgo’s 75 slid him down to eight-over.
