It was steady as she goes for Christiaan Bezuidenhout on Sunday as he carded a level-par 72 in the closing round of the PGA Tour’s American Express in La Quinta, California, to take a share of 40th place on 10-under-par.
Bezuidenhout made three birdies and three bogeys as, up ahead of him, Hudson Swafford went low with an eight-under 64 to move to 23-under-par for the week and a two-stroke victory over American countryman Tom Hoge. Brian Harman, Lanto Griffin and Lee Hodges shared third on 20-under for the week.
Bezuidenhout started the round with a bogey on the first, and then he picked up a shot with a birdie on four with an 18-foot putt on the par-three. Bogey on six and birdie on eight saw him turn in level-par, and then birdie on 12 and bogey on 13 completed his scoring for the round.
World number one Jon Rahm of Spain closed with a one-under 71 to share 14th on 14-under-par.
