Christiaan Bezuidenhout closed with his second-successive four-under-par 67 on Sunday to play himself into a share of 15th place in the PGA Tour’s Worldwide Technology Championship at Mayakoba at Riviera Maya in Mexico.

He made six birdies and two bogeys in his round as he finished the tournament on 13-under-par, 10 strokes behind the winner Viktor Hovland. Hovland rode his third round of nine-under 62 to a four-stroke victory with his closing 67 making him a comfortable winner over Mexico’s Carlos Ortiz.

Bezuidenhout had a bogey-free opening nine, with birdies on four, five and seven. He picked up another shot on the 11th, and two bogeys on 12 and 14 sandwiched his fifth birdie on the 13th. He picked up a final shot on the 16th.

Behind him, Charl Schwartzel closed with a two-under 69 to finish on eight-under in a share of 45th, while Garrick Higgo’s consistency problems continued with his closing four-over 75 seeing him drop precipitously 47 places down the leaderboard to a share of 64th on six-under for the tournament.
