Christiaan Bezuidenhout had a second round of two-under-par 70 on Friday to head into the weekend in the PGA Tour’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am on the Spyglass Hill Golf Course in Pebble Beach, California in a share of 32nd.

In the PGA Tour Signature Event, with its 80-man no-cut field, Bezuidenhout moved to six-under-par for the tournament. That put him eight shots off the lead, which was held by the in-form Sepp Straka of Austria. Straka produced a second consecutive seven-under 65, this time on Pebble Beach Golf Links, to open up a three-stroke lead at 14-under over first-round leader Russell Henley of the United States and Cam Davis of Australia.

Bezuidenhout made three birdies and two bogeys on his front nine after starting on the 10th, and picked up one more shot with a birdie on the seventh on his back nine.

Erik van Rooyen, who had a strong start with his 67 at Pebble Beach, slipped to a five-over 77 at Spyglass Hill. His card had three double-bogeys, four bogeys and three birdies. He was down in a share of 70th on level-par.
