Christiaan Bezuidenhout’s share of 45th at the weekend saw him drop one place on the latest Official World Golf Ranking list to 65th, but he remains South Africa’s top-ranked player in another quiet week for local players.
Bezuidenhout saved his best for last in the PGA Tour’s Traveler’s Championship, a Signature Event on the tour, with his four-under 64 lifting him to level-par for the week. That was 15 strokes behind the winner, Keegan Bradley of the United States, who dealt a heart-breaking one-stroke defeat to Tommy Fleetwood.
Below Bezuidenhout, Aldrich Potgieter was the best-performing of the South Africans as he got a four-place boost without lifting a club. He is the fifth-best South African, according to the official list, in 123rd.
