Christiaan Bezuidenhout slipped to a closing two-over-par 74 on Sunday in the final round of the PGA Tour’s Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines in San Diego, California.

It was a tough closing nine for the tournament for the South African, after he had made three birdies on the front nine without dropping a shot. He bogeyed the 12th, made a double-bogey on the 13th, and dropped another shot on the 14th as he slipped to one-over for his round. He got it back to level-par with a birdie on the 16th, but he made another double-bogey on the closing hole.

In the end, he carded two-over-par for the week, which left him in a share of 39th place in the limited 72-man field. The tournament was won by Swede Ludvig Åberg, who closed with a six-under 66 to hold off a charging American Maverick McNealy, who had a final round of eight-under 64. Åberg won by one stroke at 12-under. World number one Scottie Scheffler finished in a share of third with Patrick Rogers.
