Christiaan Bezuidenhout closed his campaign in the PGA Tour’s Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club in Forth Worth, Texas with a one-over-par 71 to finish in a share of 21st on one-under-par for the tournament.
Bezuidenhout made three birdies and four bogeys to close out a week in a tournament where the set-up was almost major-like, and the winning score was just eight-under-par. Argentine Emiliano Grillo won in a play-off from Adam Schenk. World number one Scottie Scheffler finished third one stroke back together with England’s Harry Hall.
It was three bogeys on the homeward nine that kept Bezuidenhout from climbing inside the top 20, but he stopped the rot with a bogey on the par-three 16th, and was projected to climb to 90th on the FedEx Cup standings.
