Jacques Blaauw carded a second successive three-under-par 67 on Tuesday as he ended the second round of the Bushveld Tour’s Race to Q-School #5 in a three-way share of the lead at six-under-par.
Blaauw was as steady as always, making three birdies on the front nine, and a birdie and a bogey on the homeward nine. He was joined by Keagan Thomas, who had a four-under 66 in the second round, and by Wandre Snyman, who had the low round of the day at Killarney Country Club with his seven-under-par 63.
In a field loaded with Sunshine Tour professionals shaking off the festive season rust, the leading trio was one shot clear of first-round leader Thabiso Ngcobo, who had a level-par 70 to stay at five-under through 36 holes and with one round remaining. Sharing fourth with Ngcobo were Stals Swart, Oliver Goldhill and Joe Knox of England.
Amateur Judd Sundelson and Carter Rowe were in a share of eighth on four-under, and Kian Coetzer, Daniel Cronje and Liam Ross shared 10th place on three-under-par.
