It was a bogey-free round for Brandon Pieters on Monday as he opened with Bushveld Tour’s Race to Q-School #4-Hayes Family Trophy at Waterkloof Golf Club with a six-under-par 66.

There were three birdies on each of the nines for the veteran, and that took him to the top of the leaderboard. It was a position he shared with another veteran, Ryan Tipping, who had and eagle, five birdies and a bogey on his scorecard.

The pair led by one from Dean Ralphs and Liam Ross, with Tiago Swart in fifth place on four-under-par. There were four players on three-under-par in a share of sixth, and, on two-under in a share of 10th, there were 10 more.

Amongst those 10 on two-under was women’s professional Danielle du Toit, who had six birdies, two bogeys and a double-bogey on her card.
