Jayden Schaper went bogey-free on Friday, and his three-under-par 68 took him to four-under-par and a share of 16th at the halfway mark of the DP World Tour’s FedEx Open de France at Golf de Saint-Nom-La-Bretèche in Paris.
Schaper picked up all three of his birdies on the front nine, and he held things together on the back nine as conditions became increasingly tricky with the wind picking up. His four-under-par total left him six strokes off the lead, which was held by the man who led after 18 holes, Marcus Armitage of England. Armitage added a three-under 68 to his opening seve-under 64 to move to 10-under and a two-shot lead over Min Woo Lee of Australia and Denmark’s Jeff Winther.
There were five players in a share of fourth on six-under, a further two strokes back, and seven on five-under in a share of ninth, including Brooks Koepka.
With Schaper in a share of 16th was Justin Harding, who started his second round on the 10th, and made four birdies and a bogey in his three-under 68.
Jacques Kruyswijk was on two-under in a share of 32nd after he signed for a second round of three-under 68, while Darren Fichardt battled to a two-over 73 with a double-bogey, four bogeys and four birdies as he moved to one-under through halfway and a share of 51st.
Robin Williams made the cut on the number at level-par after his second round of level-par 71.
