In the end, a superb 72-hole total of 22-under-par was not enough for Barend Botha in the Korn Ferry Tour’s Compliance Solutions Championship at the Patriot Golf Club in Owasso, Oklahoma, as his closing three-under-par 68 gave him a share of seventh.
Up front, it was the ridiculously low 33-under-par total of Belgian Adrien Dumont de Chassart which led the way after his worst round of the week, a six-under-par 65. With a pair of 61s to start, and a 64 in the third round, he ended up winning by seven strokes from China’s Zecheng Dou, who finished on 26-under.
Botha’s final round had four birdies and a single dropped shot on the 14th, as he was projected to rise to 54th on the Korn Ferry Tour rankings, a climb of seven places.
Christo Lamprecht was projected to stay in 11th place after his closing six-under=-par 65 lifted him to 20-under-par and a share of 15th.
Dumont de Chassart was catapulted from 26th to sixth on the Korn Ferry Tour points list to effectively secure one of the 20 PGA Tour cards available through the list. Prior to winning, Dumont de Chassart recorded five top 10s, including three top-five finishes, in 19 starts. In his win at Compliance Solutions, he established a new Korn Ferry Tour record for the lowest score relative to par, while his score of 251 was the second-lowest in Korn Ferry Tour history.
