Stacy Bregman carded a second-consecutive one-under-par 70 on Friday to move into a share of 20th ahead of the final round of the Ladies European Tour’s Lacoste Ladies Open de France at Golf Barriere in Deauville, France.
Bregman picked up four birdies in the second round of the 54-hole tournament, but also made three bogeys, and she was in an eight-way share of 20th, eight shots off the lead which was held at 10-under by Sweden’s Johanne Gustavsson after her second-consecutive five-under-par 66. Gustavsson led by one from her countrywoman Moa Folke, with Megan McLaren of England in third on eight-under.
Gustavsson, who earned two wins on the LET Access Series in 2015 and 2018, has finished second four times in 128 previous events played over eight years on the LET. Her best finish this year was second in the Pickala Ladies Open in Finland, where she led by one stroke after 54 holes. She also led at the halfway stage of the Amundi German Masters.
Sitting in ninth place on the Race to Costa del Sol Rankings, on which she finished third last year behind fellow Swedes Linn Grant and Maja Stark, Gustavsson could make a big jump with a maiden victory.
Casandra Alexandra Alexander and Nicole Garcia were in a share of 49th on one-over-par through 36 holes after rounds of level-par 71 and two-over 73 respectively.
