Ashleigh Buhai slipped to a two-over-par 74 on Friday in the second round of the HSBC Women’s World Championship in Singapore, and she found herself in a share of 36th in the 50-player field heading in to the weekend.
Buhai started well with a birdie on the second, but bogeys on five and seven put the brakes on her round. She picked up a birdie on the eighth to turn in level-par, but she dropped shots on the 14th, 17th and 18th, which rather put a dampener on the single birdie she made on the homeward nine, on the 16th.
At one-under for the tournament, she is seven shots off the lead which was shared at the halfway mark by the Korean duo of Jin Young Ko and Amy Yang on eight-under. They each carded five-under-par 67, and led by one from Atthaya Thitikul of Thailand, Canadian Brooke Henderson and Megan Kang of the United States.
