Ashleigh Buhai made six birdies on Friday on her way to a three-under-par 69 in the second round of the LPGA Tour’s Cognizant Founders Cup at Upper Montclair Country Club in Clifton, New Jersey.
She also made three bogeys, but nonetheless climbed 17 places on the leaderboard into a share of 13th on four-under-par at the halfway mark of the tournament. The lead was held at eight-under by Australia’s Sarah Kemp, who had a seven-under 65. And Korea’s Jin Young Ko, who signed for a 68. They led by one from Aditi Ashok of India, Australia’s Minjee Lee and Hae Ran Ryo of Korea.
Buhai shared 13th with, amongst others, Morgane Metraux of Switzerland, Madelene Sagstrom of Sweden, England’s Georgia Hall and American Stacy Lewis.
Paula Reto improved to a level-par 72 in the second round, but, with her opening two-over, she missed the cut by just one shot at two-over.
