Ashleigh Buhai had a second round of three-under-par 69 on Friday to stay in 44th place at the halfway mark of the LPGA Tour’s Portland Classic at Columbia Edgewater Country Club in Portland, Oregon.

Buhai made just one bogey in her second round, and picked up four birdies as she moved to five-under-par for the tournament. That put her nine strokes off the lead which was still held by Frenchwoman Perrine Delacour. Her five-under 67 in perfect conditions a day after opening with a 63 in the rain took her to 14-under. Delacour led by one from Sweden’s Linn Grant who had a second-round 66.

“You had to adjust for the pins, especially on the wedges,” Delacour said. “But it was definitely nicer. I mean, even though the bag is still wet from yesterday, but it was definitely nicer to be in shorts and polos instead of rain gear.”

South Africa’s Paula Reto missed the cut after carding her second-successive three-over 75.
