Ashleigh Buhai climbed into a share of 28th on Friday with a second round of four-under-par 68 in the LPGA Tour’s BMW Ladies Championship at Pine Beach Golf Links in Haenam, South Korea.

After opening with a two-under-par 70 in the first round, Buhai shrugged off the effects of a double-bogey six on the 18th hole – she started her round on the 10th – with two birdies on her front nine and four on the back nine.

Her strong finish lifted her to six-under-par for the tournament. That was 10 strokes off the lead which was held by Korea’s Sei Young Kim, who added a six-under 66 to her brilliant opening 10-under-par 62.

Kim was a shot clear of American Brooke Matthews, who had a 64 in the second round after a first round of 65 to move to 15-under-par. Japan’s Rio Takeda and Korea’s Hyo Joo Kim shared third on 13-under after rounds of 66 and 68 respectively.

Paula Reto climbed to a share of 59th with her second round of two-under-par 70 lifting her to two-under in the 78-player field.
