While nobody was able to stay with the winner on Sunday, Dean Burmester still managed to pull off a share of third with a closing one-over-par 73 in the final round of the LIV Golf Invitational-Bedminster at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

Burmester was relegated to fifth in the count-out system used by LIV Golf, and, at four-under for the 54-hole event, he was eight shots behind the winner, Cameron Smith. Smith romped home with his closing 69 putting him seven shots clear of runner-up Anirban Lahiri. Abraham Ancer was third, and Patrick Reed was fourth – both on four-under like Burmester.

One shot further back was Branden Grace in sixth on three-under after he closed with a level-par 72. Charl Schwartzel was on level-par in 22nd and Louis Oosthuizen was in 36th on five-over.

In the team competition, the all-South African Stinger GC finished third.
