Dean Burmester didn’t find scoring as easy as some others did on Sunday, but his level-par 70 left him in seventh place in the HSBC LIV Golf Hong Kong at the Hong Kong Golf Club at Fanling.

Burmester made a bogey on nine and a birdie on 13 to finish the tournament on 15-under-par. That was after getting it 14-under through 36 holes, and 15 through 54. Winner Jon Rahm carded a closing six-under to get to 23-under-par for a three-stroke win over Thomas Detry of Belgium.

Another Belgian, Thomas Pieters was third on 19-under, Harond Varner III was fourth on 18-under, Matthew Wolff fifth on 17-under, and Mexico’s Carlos Ortiz sixth on 16-under.

Burmester’s Southern Guards GC captain Louis Oosthuizen was another who found scoring easier as he made his third successive five-under 65 to finish one shot behind Burmester in a share of eighth.

Branden Grace had a closing one-under 69 to finish 10-under in a share of 24th, and Charl Schwartzel went two-under in the final round to finish in a share of 31st on nine-under.

Southern Guards GC finished fourth in the team competition.
