Pieter Moolman struggled in the final round of the Challenge Tour’s Kaskáda Golf Challenge at Kaskáda Golf Resort in Kácov, Czech Republic, and carded a five-over-par 76 to slip to a share of 15th.

The South African who had gone in to the final round of the tournament in second, just two shots off the lead, had the best possible start with a birdie on the first hole. But he bogeyed the second, and it was a battle from then on as he dropped two more shots on the front nine, and three on the homeward nine to finish the tournament on four-under-par.

That put him seven shots behind the winner, Lorenzo Scalise of Italy, who closed with a one-under-par 70 to reach 12-under. Scalise was three shots clear of runner-up Manuel Elvira of Spain, with England’s Jack Senior and John Allen of Germany in a share of third on eight-under.

Haydn Porteous finished the week with a level-par 71 to reach three-under and a share of 19th. Martin Vorster had a two-under 69 to get to level-par and a share of 30th, while Jaco Prinsloo was one stroke back in a share of 36th after he, too, had a 69.

JJ Senekal closed with a three-over 74, and was in 59th place on eight-over for the tournament.
