Jacques Kruyswijk rounded off a fine week on Sunday with a three-under-par 69 in the DP World Tour’s Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters at Real Club de Golf Sotogrande in Andalucía, Spain.
That took him to 14-under-par for the tournament and out him in a share of seventh place. He was seven strokes out of the play-off between Julien Guerrier of France and Spaniard Jorge Campillo. That sudden-death affair turned out to be an epic, lasting nine holes before Campillo faltered with a bogey on the sixth playing of the 18th to let Guerrier in for his first DP World Tour victory.
Kruyswijk made six birdies as he pushed for a higher finish, but he also made three bogeys. It was an important finish for Kruyswijk as he climbed to 100th on the Race to Dubai, which was a big step on the road to retaining his playing privileges on the DP World Tour for next season.
Jayden Schaper and Brandon Stone finished in a share of 17th after closing rounds of 71 and 66 respectively. Thriston Lawrence and Casey Jarvis were in a share of 36th on four-under for the week with closing rounds of 66 and 68, and Thomas Aiken closed with a level-par 72 for a share of 43rd.
Justin Harding stumbled to an eight-over 80 in the final round, and slipped to a share of 63rd.
