Adilson da Silva will take a one-shot lead into the final round of the WCM Legends Open de France after shooting a second successive 65 on Friday at Golf de Saint-Cloud.

It was another blisteringly hot day with just a light breeze in Paris and Da Silva took advantage of the conditions with seven birdies and a just single dropped shot to reach 12-under, one ahead of first-round leader Greg Owen.

The Brazilian had three red numbers in his final four holes to take control of a tournament and he’ll be confident of finishing the job tomorrow on a style of course that he’s excelled on this season. His two wins have come at tree-lined venues in the Riegler and Partner Legends in Austria and the Swiss Seniors Open.

“I’m really chuffed,” said the leader. “Again today, I hit the ball really well and gave myself a lot of chances. I probably missed two fairways today and the rest was all good. That’s the key here, to hit the fairways. The course isn’t very long, but if you do miss there are a lot of trees everywhere. It’s a nice stretch of holes there at the end. You need to get at least one or two birdies, but it’s so easy to get ahead of yourself.

“I’m feeling good. I just want to keep playing the way I have been, and if someone else plays better than me tomorrow then good for them. But I’m happy and I’m going to keep focussed and stay in the present.”

Four shots behind Da Silva in a share of fourth was Keith Horne, who had a second round of three-under-par 68. James Kingston had a one-under 70, and, at three-under, was in a share of 12th.
