Adilson Da Silva celebrated earning his playing privileges on the Legends Tour by taking a share of the first-round lead on Thursday in the WCM Legends Open de France at Golf de Saint-Cloud in Paris with a five-under-par 66.

The Brazilian who now lives in South Africa and has 12 Sunshine Tour titles, as well as one on the Asian Tour, had a bogey on the third hole, but then he reeled off three birdies in a row from the seventh to the ninth, and then again from the 14th to the 16th.

That put him in a share of the lead with England’s Robert Coles, and they were one clear of Philip Price of Wales and New Zealand’s Michael Long.

The other South African in the field is James Kingston, and he opened with a one-under-par 70, to be in a share of 15th with, amongst others, Ian Woosnam.
