MJ Daffue had a superb start to the Korn Ferry Tour’s Astara Golf Championship in Bogota, Colombia, on Thursday when he carded a seven-under-par 63 to take up fourth place after the first round.
Daffue made five birdies in his opening nine holes to turn in five-under-par 30, and he picked up four more on his homeward nine. Bogeys on 14 and 17 saw him finish up the day two shots behind the leaders, Ryan McCormick and Trevor Werbylo of the United States.
McCormick had an eagle, eight birdies and a bogey in his nine-under-par 61, while Werbylo was bogey-free in his 61.
Trace Crowe of the United States was in third, one shot ahead of Daffue.
