MJ Daffue maintained his chase for glory in the Visit To Knoxville Open on the Korn Ferry Tour with a two-under-par 70 third round which saw him to a share of fourth on 13-under-par ahead of the final round in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The South African is only three shots off American Ander Anderson’s lead after impressing once more in the third round. His front nine was characterised by pars from the first to the ninth as Daffue refused to give any shots away.

Coming home and immediately after the turn, Daffue found a welcome birdie before going on another long stretch of what looked like a measured performance. He made pars from the 11th through to the 16th before making further gains on 17; walking away with a birdie there before closing with a par on 18.

Daffue will be looking for a solid finish as he targets his maiden victory on that Tour. As it is, the South African boasts a runners-up finish, a share of fourth and a single top 10 finish on the Korn Ferry Tour – a tour largely regarded as a gateway to the PGA Tour.

The 33-year old Pretoria native will know that heading into the final round, and against the scintillating American Anderson, he will have to bring his best golf if he wants to etch his name in the list of winners on that circuit this season.
