Daffue’s 67 gives him share of 10th in 1st round of Visit Knoxville Open

Overcoming an early bogey on Thursday, South Africa’s MJ Daffue carded a four-under-par 67 in the first round of the Korn Ferry Tour’s Visit Knoxville Open at Holston Hills Country Club in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Daffue started his round on the 10th hole, and dropped a shot on the 11th. He turned in level-par after making birdie on the 16th, and then made four more birdies on his homeward nine. That took him into a share of 10th.

Up front, the lead was shared at seven-under-par by Americans Andrew Kozan and Ryan Hall on 64. They were one clear of four players on six-under, and there were three more players on five-under in a share of seventh. There were 11 other players with Daffue in a share of 10th.

Barend Botha opened with a one-over-par 72 for a share of 88th.
