His run of recent good form continued on Friday as MJ Daffue carded a six-under-par 65 in the second round of the Korn Ferry Tour’s LECOM Suncoast Classic at Lakewood Ranch in Florida.
His bogey-free round saw him climb 28 places on the leaderboard into a share of 17th on nine-under-par for the tournament. That put him five shots off the lead at the halfway mark which was held by China’s Zecheng Dou after he signed for a second successive seven-under 64 to move to 14-under for the tournament. Dou had a two-shot lead over American Davis Thompson, with 10 players in a share of third on 11-under-par.
Daffue started his round on the 10th, and immediately picked up a birdie on that first hole of the day. Ahead of the turn, he made one more gain with a birdie on the 14th, and then he picked up four more on his way in, on the first, fifth, seventh and ninth.
