Keenan Davidse opened with a bogey-free six-under-par 66 on Thursday in the first round of the Challenge Tour’s Andalucía Challenge de Cádiz at Iberostar Real Golf Novo Sancti Petri in Cadiz, Andalucía, Spain.
Davidse made three birdies on each of the nines and shared fourth with three other players, three shots behind the leaders. The lead was shared by Filippo Celli of Italy and Sam Hutsby of England. They were two clear of Philipp Mejow of Germany on seven-under.
Dylan Mostert and Jaco Prinsloo each signed for three-under-par 69 to be in a share of 21st after the first round, while JJ Senekal was on one-under in a share of 50th. Marin Vorster made a level-par 72 for a share of 70th and Luke Jerling was one-over in a share of 90th. Tristen Strydom and Hayden Porteous were on two-over in 111th and Casey Jarvis slumped to three-over for a share of 127th. Albert Venter was on four-over.
