Louis de Jager held on to a spot inside the top 10 on Saturday with a level-par 72 in the third round of the DP World Tour’s Andalucía Masters at Real Club de Golf Sotogrande in San Roque, Spain.

De Jager had a good start, getting his total to 11-under with birdies six and 10. But then he had a horrible triple-bogey eight on the par-five 12th. When he followed it with a bogey on the 13th, his round could have unravelled. But he eagled the 14th to start clawing his way back, and a birdie on the 17th got him back under par. But a bogey on 18 dropped him back to level-par.

At nine-under, he was five strokes behind the lead which was shared by Jeff Winther of Denmark and Matti Schmid of Germany. They each scored seven-under 65 and had a two-stroke lead over defending champion Adrian Otaegui of Spain.

Zander Lombard got his tournament trending back in the right direction with a two-under-par 70 in the third round to move to four-under-par in a share of 41st. Also on four-under was Thriston Lawrence after he had a level-par 72.

Deon Germishuys slumped to a seven-over 79 to head into the final round in 67th and last on five-over.
