Despite a seven-over-par total in the second round on the par-three course, Jaden Deltel closed with a three-under-par 69 on Wednesday to win the Bushveld Tour’s Bushveld Series #11 at Serengeti Country Estate.

The first round was played on the championship course, the second on the Whistling Thorn Par-3 course, and the final round was back on the championship course.

Deltel opened with a four-under 68, but he slipped to a 61 in the second round while the lowest score was a one-over-par 55.

He got things back on track in the final round, going bogey-free in three-under 33 through the turn. Despite dropping shots on 10, 12 and 13, he made eagles on 11 and 14. That gave him some leeway, and although he dropped another shot on 18, he eventually won by two shots.

In a share of second was the amateur duo of Dillon Germshuys and Ryan van der Klis, who closed with 68 and 72 respectively.

There were three more amateurs in a share of fourth: Korean Jungwi Lee and South Africans Matthew Bennett and Jonathan Ackerman finished on five-over.

Professionals Jacques van der Merwe, Jason Froneman, Ivan Mare, Karabo Mokoena and Eric Wowor rounded out the top 10.
