Werner Deyzel overcame an opening round of four-over-par 76 to go on and win a play-off on Wednesday after 54 holes of regulation play of the Bushveld Tour’s Race to Q-School Wanna Be A Champion Series #1 at Woodhill Country Club.

Deyzel closed with a four-under-par 68 after a second-round seven-under-par 65 to draw level with Fabrizio de Abreu on seven-under-par for the tournament. Deyzel made an eagle, four birdies and two bogeys as he headed in to the play-off. He made consecutive birdies on 17 and 18 to put himself in a position to win the tournament. De Abreu made a birdie on 17, but was unable to dip under par on the final hole to win outright in regulation play.

Behind them., there were four players in a share of third on six-under-par: Joe Knox, Rigardt Albertse, Ruan Groenewald and Stuart Krog.
