Hennie du Plessis took advantage of the good scoring on offer on Saturday with a seven-under-par 63 in the third round of the DP World Tour’s Made in HimmerLand at the HimmerLand course in Farsø, Denmark.

Du Plessis made five birdies and an eagle as he climbed into a share of 11th on seven-under-par. That was six shots off the lead which was held by Spain’s Nacho Elvira, who had a 66 to move to 13-under and a one-shot lead over Robert MacIntyre of Scotland. Another Scot, former South African Open champion Richie Ramsay, was in third on 11-under.

Du Plessis’ eagle came on the par-five fifth hole when he flew his approach 205 yards to the green, but nearly 50 feet past the hole. He made the putt to move to three-under after he had birdied the first. He made three more birdies on the back nine in his bogey-free effort.

One shot behind Du Plessis was the veteran Darren Fichardt, who had a third round of four-under-par 66 to move to six-under for the tournament and a share of 16th.

Bryce Easton and Daniel van Tonder had rounds of 65 and 66 respectively to climb into a share of 28th on four-under. Justin Walters carded a two-under 68 and was in a share of 38th on three-under. Louis de Jager and Thomas Aiken were on level-par for the tournament in a share of 58th after rounds of level-par and one-under-par.
