Eagle on 18 puts Walters in the mix in Porsche European Open

Justin Walters made eagle on the 18th on Saturday to card a three-under-par 69, taking him to within three shots of the lead after the third round of the DP World Tour’s Porsche European Open in Hamburg, Germany.

After having two bogeys early on in his round on the fourth and sixth, he immediately got things back on track with a birdie on the seventh. There were two more birdies on the 11th and 14th, and then the closing eagle. That put him in sixth place, four shots behind leader Victor Perez of France, who had a hole-in-one in his one-under 71. Perez led by one from Julien Brun of France and Sweden’s Joakim Lagergren.

Richard Sterne had a one-over 73 in the third round to move to one-over for the tournament and a share of 17th. Amongst those he shared with was Brandon Stone, who also had a one-over 73. Darren Fichardt signed for a level-par 72 to be in a share of 31st on three-over. Thriston Lawrence also had a 72 and was on four-over in 39th and Zander Lombard was on five-over after a 73. Also on five-over in a share of 48th after a 73.
