After a brilliant front nine on Thursday, Bryce Easton battled a bit on the back nine but still carded an opening four-under-par 66 in the first round of the HotelPlanner Tour’s D+D REAL Czech Challenge at the Royal Beroun Golf Club in the Czech Republic.
Easton carded a five-under 29 on the front nine with five birdies, but he made three bogeys on the back nine with just two more birdies. He was in a share of 17th after the first round, four strokes off the lead. Danny List of Australia and Albert Boneta of Spain shared the lead at eight-under-par, a stroke clear of Christian Jacobsen of Denmark.
List, who sits 56th on the Road to Mallorca Rankings, was one of the early starters on day one and kickstarted his week with five front nine birdies to go out in 29 strokes. Boneta started on the 10th but caught fire on his back nine. Having played his first 10 holes in one-under-par, seven birdies in his closing eight holes saw the 23-year-old use just 27 strokes coming home and move level with List at eight-under.
Benjamin Follett-Smith of Zimbabwe shared 17th with Easton on four-under, while Wilco Nienaber was on level-par in a share of 91st.
Rupert Kaminski opened with a one-over 71, as did Rhys Enoch of Wales, and Jovan Rebula was on two-over72. JC Ritchie was a shot further back on three-over-par.
