Bryce Easton made six birdies on Thursday in the first round of the HotelPlanner Tour’s Hangzhou Open at Hangzhou West Lake Golf Club in Hangzhou, China on his way to a share of fifth.
Easton made four birdies on the front nine after he started his round on the 10th. He picked up his first two birdies on the 10th and the 17th ahead of the turn, and then picked up three in a row after that from the third. His final birdie came on the eighth as he finished up on six-under-par 66 for the first 18.
He was three strokes behind the lead, which was held by Victor Pastor of Spain at nine-under-par. Pastor was also bogey-free, and he was a shot clear of China’s Xinjun Chang, who dropped a shot on his way to a 64. James Morrison of England and Lukas Nemecz of Austria were in a share of third on seven-under. Easton shared fifth with England’s Tom Lewis and China’s Bowen Chai.
Jovan Rebula opened with a level-par 72, and he was down in a share of 68th with, amongst others, JC Ritchie.
