Bryce Easton kept himself in contention on Friday as he battled his way to a level-par 72 in the second round of the Challenge Tour’s in the Swiss Challenge at Golf Saint Apollinaire in Folgensbourg, France.
After his opening round of six-under-par, he reached the halfway mark in six-under-par, four strokes behind the lead which was held by Korea’s Jeong weon Ko. Ko had a 68 to move to 10-under, one ahead of Denmark’s Martin Simonsen, while England’s Ben Stow was in third on eight-under.
Easton had two early bogeys on the third and fourth holes, and then he had a double-bogey on the 16th. But four birdies kept him in the hunt for the weekend.
Behind him, Deon Germishuys also had a battle as he carded a one-over-par 73 with three birdies, two bogeys and a double. That left him in a share of 24th on two-under. Also on two-under after a round of three-under-par 69 was JC Ritchie.
