Ernie Els charged hard on Sunday in the final round of the PGA Tour Champions Cologuard Classic in Tucson, Arizona, as his eight-under-par 64 saw him finish in a share of 20th.
He climbed 38 places on the leaderboard, his tournament total of five-under seeing him finish 13 shots off the runaway victory by Spain’s Miguel Angel Jimenez. Jimenez was four shots clear of Woody Austin and Bernhard Langer in second, with Jerry Kelly and Scott Parel of the United States in fourth and fifth.
Retief Goosen had a quiet week, his closing one-over-par 73 seeing him finish five-over for the week in 64th. David Frost had a three-over 75 to close, and he was in a share of 66th.
