Ernie Els dropped just a single shot on Friday on his way to a five-under-par 67 in the second round of the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai Golf Club in Kailua Kona, Hawaii.

He made four birdies before he dropped that single shot on the 13th, and he got it back to four-under with a birdie on the 14th and a final birdie on the 18th.

That put him alone in fourth place on 11-under-par ahead of the final round of the 54-hole tournament, and five strokes behind the leader, Steven Alker of New Zealand. Alker shot a nine-under-par 63 to pull two shots clear of Harrison Frazar and Steve Stricker of the United States.

Els was one stroke clear of David Toms and Justin Leonard.
