Ernie Els finished 10 shots back on Sunday in the second senior major championship of the season in a share of 14th place in the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship at Harbor Shores in Michigan.
Els closed with an even-par 71 to finish the week on six-under-par after previous rounds of 67-70-70.
The tournament was won by New Zealand’s Steven Alker at 16-under-par for his first major. He had a three-stroke cushion over Canadian Stephen Ames, with Germany’s Bernhard Langer a further three shots back in third. Alker pulled off his win with a fine 63 in the final round.
Retief Goosen was in a share of 33rd on two-under after a closing three-under 68, while James Kingston had a two-over 73 in the final round to be two-over for the tournament in a share of 43rd. David Frost shared 55th on four-over after he signed off with a one-under 70.
