It was a fast finish for MJ Daffue on Sunday as he carded a five-under-par 67 in the closing round of the PGA Tour’s and DP World Tour’s Barbasol Championship at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Kentucky to take a share of 16th.
He finished the tournament on 15-under-par, which put him seven strokes out of the play-off. Sweden’s Vincent Norrman defeated England’s Nathan Kimsey on the first extra hole of the play-off after the pair was locked together at 22-under in regulation play. They were one stroke clear of France’s Adrien Saddier and American Trevor Cone, with former US Open champion Lucas Glover in fifth on 20-under-par.
Daffue made three birdies on each of the nines in the final round to move to 16-under after 15 holes, but he bogeyed the last after pulling his tee shot into the thick rough on the left and taking an unplayable.
He shared 15th with Louis de Jager, who closed with a two-under-par 70, and with Jayden Schaper, who was lying in a share of fifth after the third round. Schaper also closed with a two-under-par 70 which was just not enough to hang in with the leaders.
JC Ritchie finished fast with an eight-under-par 64 lifting him to a share of 24th on 14-under-par, just one behind his three compatriots.
