It was a quiet finish for the South Africans on Saturday in the PGA Tour’s Farmers Insurance Open, and Dylan Frittelli was the best of the three who made the cut with a closing one-over-par 73 lifting him to a share of 37th.
The tournament was won by California native Max Homa at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, San Diego. He had a closing six-under 66 to move to 13-under for a two-stroke win over Keegan Bradley, with Collin Morikawa in third on 10-under. Jon Rahm slid to a closing two-under 74 to finish in a share of seventh on eight-under.
Frittelli made three birdies and four bogeys in his final round, and he shared 37th with, amongst others, fellow-South African Dean Burmester. Burmester closed with a four-over 76 to slide 13 spots down on the leaderboard.
Garrick Higgo had a six-over 78 in the final round, and he finished in a share of 53rd on four-over for the tournament.
