Dylan Frittelli made the cut on the number on Friday after he carded a one-under-par 69 in the second round of the PGA Tour’s Wells Fargo Championship in Potomac, Maryland.

That moved him to level-par for the tournament and a share of 50th. He was 10 strokes behind the leader, Jason Day of Australia, who handled the rainy conditions better than anyone to card a three-under 67 to move to a three-stroke lead over Max Homa. Luke List, Kurt Kitayama, James Hahn and Denny McCarthy were in a share of third on six-under, four behind Day.

Frittelli started with a bogey on his first hole of the day, the 10th, but he made three birdies after that on the 14th, 16th and 17th to turn in two-under 33. He started and finished his homeward nine with birdies, and made bogeys on four, six and seven.

Fellow South African Dawie van der Walt was better placed than Frittelli, in a share of 29th after a level-par 70 saw him climb 31 places on the leaderboard.
