Frost 3-under after round 1 of Mitsubishi Electric Classic

David Frost opened the PGA Tour Champions event, the Mitsubishi Electric Classic in Georgia on Friday with a three-under-par 69 to be in a share of eighth after the first round.

Frost made four birdies and a bogey to be four shots off the lead which was shared by Ken Duke and David Toms of the United States. That pair led by two from compatriot Steve Flesch, with Robert Karlsson, Paul Broadhurst, Steve Stricker and Mark Walker in a share of fourth on four-under.

Ernie Els had a level-par opener to be in a share of 31st, and Retief Goosen was two-over in a share of 49th in the 78-man field competing over 54 holes.
