Nicole Garcia opened her campaign in the ISPS HANDA World Invitational presented by AVIV Clinics at Castlerock Golf Club with a one-under-par 72 to be in a share of 13th after the first round on Thursday.
With the tournament being played over two courses in Ireland, Castlerock and Galgorm Castle, with pars of 72 and 73 respectively, and the final two rounds after the first cut at Galgorm Castle, Garcia’s two birdies and a bogey on the back nine have her just three shots off the lead.
There were four players on four-under, all from Castlerock: Karis Davidson of Australia, Switzerland’s Kim Metraux, Swede Ellinor Sudow and Gabriela Cowley of England. They led by from four players on three-under, with a further four on two-under, including the leading player from Galgorm Castle, Marissa Steen of the United States.
In a share of 13th with Garcia was Lee-Anne Pace, who also carded here one-under 72 at Castlerock, while Casandra Alexander opened with a one-under 71 at Galgorm Castle to also be in a share of 13th.
