Nicole Garcia bounced back well in the final round of the Ladies European Tour’s Aramco Team Series-New York City on Saturday with a closing three-under-par 69 at the Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point.
Garcia made an eagle, four birdies and three bogeys to move to three-over-par for the 54-hole tournament and a share of 36th.
The tournament was won by Lexi Thompson, who also carded three-under 69 in the final round to move to 11-under for the tournament. That gave her a three-stroke edge over Brooke Henderson of Canada and Madelene Sagstrom of Sweden.
“I’ve been working extremely hard on my game,” Thompson said. “I felt like it was a matter of time, but I just wanted to play golf and put myself in contention in the final rounds and learn from the losses that I had and what I needed to work on, and I brought that into today.”
Nelly Korda finished in fourth place on seven-under-par with a round of level par. Scotland’s Kylie Henry produced the joint-best round of the day with a 67 to finish in a share of fifth place alongside Sweden’s Maja Stark on six-under.
