Nicole Garcia was one of two South Africa’s top 10 players who climbed on the latest Rolex Women’s World Rankings after a share of 14th last weekend in the KPMG Women’s Irish Open.

It’s been a season of steady progress on the Ladies European Tour for Garcia, and her position on the official rankings list went up by two spots to 195th after the Irish tournament, keeping her inside the top 200 players in the world.

The woman with whom she shared 14th, Casandra Alexander, has likewise had a season of steady progress on the LET, and she was up three places to 277th. That consolidates her ascension into the world’s top 300, and, she will no doubt be looking at that 200th spot longingly as she rounds out her year.

South Africa’s top woman remains Ashleigh Buhai, unchanged at world number 20 this week.
