Nicole Garcia hung on to her place inside the top 10 on Friday when she carded a level-par 72 in the second round of the Ladies European Tour’s Hero Women’s Indian Open.

Garcia made three birdies and three bogeys in the second round to remain at three-under for the tournament in a share of sixth place. The lead was held by four players at five-under-par: Noora Komulainen of Finland, Sweden’s Caroline Hedwall and the Indian pair of Amandeep Drall and Gaurika Bishnoi all led by one from Elin Arvidsson of Sweden.

Garcia started her round on the 10th, and made bogey in the 12th after starting with two pars. She regained that dropped shot with a birdie on the 14th, and turned in level-par. Things started badly on her homeward nine as she bogeyed the first. But she birdied four, before dropping immediately with a bogey on the fifth. But she got things back on an even keel as she made birdie on her closing hole, the ninth.

She shared sixth with England’s Megan McLaren, Luna Sobron Galmes of Spain and India’s Aditi Ashok.

Nobuhle Dlamini of eSwatini had a one-over 73 to move to one-over for the tournament and a share of 16th, while Stacy Bregman and Lejan Lewthwaite missed the cut after rounds of 74 and 77 respectively.
